WHO WE ARE
How we connect to God & God’s People
Our Vision: Who We Are
Trinity is a Gospel-driven community of fully devoted followers of Jesus on mission together.
From that statement, we derive four specific motivations for how we do church at Trinity. They are:
Trinity is Gospel-Driven
“In everything we do we strive to be faithful to the biblical Gospel, believing that it is the Gospel alone which has power to transform lives. Through preaching, teaching, and transformed lives, we make it our aim to help people gain an understanding of what God did in Christ and how it applies to our lives.
Trinity is People-Driven
“We realize that church life is not essentially about programs or ways of doing things but about people. We believe that our ultimate goal as a church is to equip people so that they have everything they need to live fruitful lives that glorify God.
Trinity is Discipleship-Driven
“We believe that lives are changed “one life at a time” as people intentionally pour themselves into others. It is our aim therefore to help believers mature so that they naturally begin to multiply themselves through discipleship“
Trinity is Mission-Driven
“We believe our ultimate purpose for existing is to glorify God by advancing his kingdom in our city, region and ultimately the world. Mission is the intentional way in which we seek to equip our body to advance the kingdom outside our walls.
Our Values: What Is Important and what guides how we do ministry at Trinity
Community-Fellowship; living in the light; living transparently; living the kingdom life together
“It is our conviction that church life is not just about attending meetings, but building intimate relationships with those God has brought us into relationship with. While meetings are important, we believe that each believer cannot reach his or her maximum fruitfulness apart from entering authentic relationships characterized by honesty, transparency, and accountability. We value these relationships and do everything we can to foster them.
Discipleship-Intentional life-on- life impartation of Christ by sharing the Word of God and imitative living
“We believe that godly leaders exist in the church not to be served, but to serve God's people in order to equip them to become all that God has called them to be (see Ephesians 4:11-12). Equipping is not just one aspect of what leaders do—it is the essence of why leaders exist in the body of Christ!
Mission-Sharing the gospel with unbelievers through our lifestyles and our words
“We are totally committed to the belief that each believer is on mission and that they are called to have influence outside the church walls. That means that each one is called to make disciples in the natural course of life as they form relationships with those outside the kingdom. We also value strategic events aimed at reaching those who have not yet heard. Ultimately, some are called to mission outside of our region and even our borders.”
Our Vehicle: How we get there
Healthy Families
“We believe that the family is the core institution of God's kingdom. In our day the family is under severe attack. We are totally committed therefore to promoting and equipping strong, healthy families that glorify God and through which the kingdom may be advanced.”
House Churches
“Because of our vision and values, we believe the best way to equip our members for life and ministry is by meeting in the homes of believers throughout our region. We call them ‘house churches’ not because they are autonomous churches, but to underscore the fact that they are as an important part of church life as are our corporate times of worship and teaching in our building. It is through these small gatherings that we actually provide pastoral care for our church.
Corporate Celebrations
“We also are committed to gathering weekly at our building for times of corporate celebration and preaching and teaching. This allows our people to feel that they are part of something larger and is strategic in our desire to equip every member to function in their God-given sphere.
Statement of Faith
We have been enlightened, enriched, and edified by many streams of Christian truth, and do not seek to distinguish or divide ourselves from the other members of the Body of Christ. We feel, however, that those considering to become a member of our church must know the fundamental truths in which we believe and seek to live by.
WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, the only true standard for the believer's life and practice.
WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God, that he was tempted by Satan and fell, and that all following Adam have sinned and are sinful; that repentance toward God, faith in Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential for salvation.
WE BELIEVE it is the will of God that all believers should be filled with the Holy Spirit, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service, and be sanctified wholly, being separated from sin and the world, and fully dedicated to the will of God. This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion.
WE BELIEVE that the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit are given for the edification of God's people and to enable them to be effective witnesses in the world.
WE BELIEVE in the personal return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in the resurrection of all persons, in final judgement, and in eternal reward and punishment.
WE BELIEVE that all Christians are called to be witnesses to the grace of God, and to preach the gospel to every person in obedience to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ.
